Since the rise of Trump, Saturday Night Live has once again become appointment television. Thanks to a renewed sense of political urgency, its ratings have never been higher, and the Emmys are piling up. But just because SNL is once again the forefront of our cultural discourse, don’t expect Lorne Michaels and co. to rest on their laurels. Even if the show’s political humor isn’t your bag, there’s still plenty of reasons to tune in.

Take last week’s season premiere, which was hosted by our most likable leading man, Ryan Gosling. Watching Gosling break in pretty much every sketch he was in might wind up being a season highlight, while the Papyrus sketch is officially the show’s first viral moment. So how do you top that? Well, if you’re Lorne Michaels, you book the breakout star of the year’s biggest movie. You book Wonder Woman.

That’s right, folks. This Saturday, Gal Gadot will make her SNL debut, and based on the just-released first promo, the writers have no intention of playing down her side gig as the world-beating Amazon princess. The clip begins innocently enough, with Leslie Jones, Beck Bennett and Mikey Day wondering where their host is, and if she’ll be anything like the character that made her a household name.

What happens next will be entirely familiar to anyone who saw Wonder Woman this summer, or anyone who’s friends with someone that likes to make a grand entrance. Either way, it bodes well for this week’s outing, which should be heavy on Wonder Woman-inspired gags. As for whether or not Gadot will be up to the task, look no further than her various social media accounts, in which the Israeli actress oozes effortless charm and charisma. In other words, Gal Gadot is the SNL host we need right now. Watch the first promo below.
