Playboy is happy to bring you the world premiere of Sonic Mayhem and Power Glove’s “Futureland,” the second track from DOOMSDAY, Sonic’s debut artist album.
Sonic Mayhem, a.k.a. Sascha Dikiciyan, is a Berlin-born, Hollywood-based electronic and industrial producer who’s accrued an impressive list of video game soundtrack credits, from Mass Effect, Tron: Evolution and Borderlands all the way back to Quake. His collaborators on “Futureland,” Australian duo Power Glove, count a critically acclaimed soundtrack to Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon among their credits.
Produced by Sonic Mayhem and mixed by Sonny DiPerri (NIN, M83 and 30 Seconds to Mars), DOOMSDAY is described as “an original, emotive soundtrack experience to a movie that does not exist,” and “Futureland” sounds like the tense and slowly building second scene, splashing synths and stomping beat illuminating an imaginary, slow-motion space battle in your head.
Sonic Mayhem’s DOOMSDAY arrives July 17 on Bandcamp and iTunes and in physical format from Sonic’s official store.
