Arguing about politics on the Internet is stupid. But for the mayor of the German town of Quickborn, it also turned out to be really embarrassing.

Thomas Köppl, the mayor in question, recently posted a screen shot of the German constitution in order to prove a point about a rival far-right political party. However, he failed to realize that the image also contained five other browser tabs with titles such as “Punishment porn videos” and “German slut punished.”

Köppl quickly deleted the screen shot after realizing what had happened, but not before other Internet users took some screen shots of their own. And while the mayor initially tried to deny that the image was from his own computer, he eventually came clean, so to speak. But not before coming up with a shockingly lame explanation.

According to Köppl, he overheard someone talking about “BDSM” porn while on vacation, and was simply researching it to see what all the fuss is about.

“I wasn’t so up-to-date about that, which annoys me,“ Köppl said. "They were mentioning the site Xhamster, and when I got to my room I wanted to get clued-up.”

And considering he had six tabs worth of BDSM porn open at once, I assume it wasn’t long before he “clued-up” all over his keyboard.

Köppl went on to say that after “researching” BDSM, it’s really not his thing.

‘I’m sure people who like it can have a lot of fun with BDSM,“ he said. "I find it rather disturbing. I have a problem with violence in general.”

Hey, I guess I just have a hard time believing that a German in a position of authority would be into bondage and humiliation. Now if you’ll excuse me, earlier today I overhead someone in an elevator talking about CFNM prolapsing, and I’d like to figure out what all the fuss is about.
