The emphasis on showmanship that’s so thoroughly transformed San Diego Comic-Con into one of the biggest media events of the year means that the show floor is now basically one giant nerdy museum, where everything from the latest toys to full-scale props from upcoming movies are on display. Naturally, Warner Bros. doesn’t want to get showed up by another studio, so they brought all four main costumes (that we know of) from the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to the con and put them inches away from fans.
During Wednesday’s Preview Night, the costumes were one of the con’s biggest early hits, and fans were quick to get as close as possible to capture all the details via videos like the one above. You see Superman’s costume, Batman’s new threads, and Wonder Woman’s first big-screen gear, but they were all upstaged by the new Batman armor previously showcased in the film’s trailer. See, before justice can dawn, Batman and Superman have to step outside and settle some business, and because Superman’s basically a god, Batman’s showing up in this badass, Kryptonite-enhanced body-tank. Even if you’re not a DC Comics fan, it’s hard to resist wanting to see the Dark Knight throw some punches in that thing.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25, 2016.
