Reebok held a women’s empowerment event in New York City this week to kick off their #PerfectNever campaign, and Gigi Hadid hosted a panel discussion with Aly Raisman, Ruby Rose, Lena Dunham, and Zoë Kravitz.

Gigi also led the crowd in a self-defense kickboxing class. She’s been kickboxing for several years and says the guys in her gym are like big brothers to her. “They don’t care about who I am…They don’t care about what my body looks like. They care that I give a good punch, and that’s how I want to be judged. That’s what makes me proud of myself.“ For Gigi, it’s not just about staying in shape. Her training came in handy back in September when she was grabbed by a stranger in Italy and fiercely elbowed him off.

She revealed she also kicks butt at a number of other things, not counting being one of the world’s most successful supermodels.

Cooking eggs. She told the panel she likes experimenting with different ways to cook eggs. “There’s a Middle Eastern spice called, zaatar, so I’ll do eggs and zaatar. I love eggs! In general I like fresh ingredients. I’m not a salad and meat type of person; to me, that’s boring.”

Staying motivated. Gigi isn’t a fan of doing squats (who the hell is?), but she forced herself to do them leading up to the Victoria’s Secret show. "I put a sticky note in my kitchen, and every time I walked past the ‘squats sticky note,’ I had to do 15 squats. It’s a good trick because it reminds you that you have to have integrity with yourself. No one else is watching, so I have to just do it for myself.”

Screaming at the top of her lungs. When Gigi feels stressed, she knows how to get it under control. “Literally, screaming into a pillow helps. One time I was on set for a beach shoot, and my mom said, 'Go scream into the ocean. It relieves the tension.'”

Gigi also shared she’ll be taking a month-long break from Instagram during the holidays. She said, "A lot of the world feels so entitled to other peoples’ lives, which is so crazy. I’m going to take a break when I feel like it, and when I come back and share it with you, if you want to be supportive and still follow me, that’s great. But, if you’re going to be upset that I need to be human for a month, then maybe I don’t want your follow anyway.”

She reassured the crowd she won’t be deleting her account. “I’m just taking the app off my phone.” The heads-up is surely appreciated. We wouldn’t want another Kendall situation on our hands.
