Gigi Hadid answers 73 questions in a new video, but none of her answers are very surprising. Among other things, she admires Rihanna, loves horses, and appreciates having chips and guac to snack on during shoots. Hadid says the best advice her mother ever gave her was, “If you’re not the nicest, most hardworking girl in the industry, there’s going to be someone prettier, nicer, and more hardworking.”

Hadid seems to have taken her mother’s advice to heart. She’s doing her best to be the prettiest, nicest, most hardworking model out there—but that’s not juicy enough material for Vogue to spin into a cover story. Hadid appears on the cover of the magazine’s August issue alongside Zayn Malik, her boyfriend since 2015. Even their relationship seems pretty straightforward—it’s not unusual for supermodels to date famous musicians and vice versa—but Vogue’s article about the couple tries REALLY hard to stir up some controversy.

As Jezebel pointed out this morning, “Vogue thinks Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are gender fluid because they sometimes wear each other’s clothes.”

As if to emphasize the point, they put her in a suit during the photoshoot:

Oh, Vogue. Unless someone specifically tells you they don’t identify with either gender, please don’t assume they’re gender fluid just because they occasionally wear an item of clothing from their partner’s closet. And just FYI, when you have Gigi Hadid posing for you, you don’t have to manufacture drama to get the public’s attention. You already have it.
