In the new Logan trailer, the gloves are off and the claws are out with a grizzled Hugh Jackman reprising his famed role as Wolverine. As we predicted, the famed graphic novel Old Man Logan, which portrays a post-apocalyptic Wolverine as the last hope of mankind, seems to have had a huge influence on the film.
We’re also living in a post-Deadpool world, so the R-rated film will likely be as violent as many comic-book fans feel it should be. But it’s not just savage gore and orchestral swells; the latest red-band trailer uses Johnny Cash’s haunting rendition of the Nine Inch Nails song “Hurt.”
Seeing Hugh Jackman back in full force reminded us of a clever game invented by Aussie DJ duo Fitzy and Wippa in 2011—roughly three years after Jackman sat for his first Playboy Interview. The game is simple: Figure out which Hugh—Hefner or Jackman—is responsible for making certain statements. While most wouldn’t consider those two gents to be very similar, Jackman himself has a rough time of it.
Clearly, the two Hughs have a lot in common. One may have an adamantium endo-skeleton and the other may prefer a smoking jacket, but in the game of Guess Hugh, everyone wins.
