In news that will shock absolutely no one, celebrity chef Guy Fieri revealed that he owns a fleet of obnoxiously loud yellow cars. In a recent story in Food Network magazine, Fieri showed off his collection, which includes a yellow 1976 Jeep CJ-5, a yellow 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, a yellow 2011 Chevrolet Camaro, a yellow 1969 Chevrolet Corvette, and a yellow 2006 Chevrolet Kodiak truck.

The Chevelle was the banana car that started it all. Fieri saw it come up for sale in 1996. He wasn’t the celebrity chef that he is today and told his wife that he was going to mortgage their house to come up with the $25,000 to pay for the car. When she predictably balked at the idea, Fieri showed her an Ugg boot (yes, an Ugg boot) where he had stashed $12,000 in cash. That, some free meals at Fieri’s first restaurant Johnny Garlic’s, and some keen negotiating earned him the car, which he nicknamed SS Hunter. (Would you expect anything less?)

Fieri initially didn’t want a yellow car, but the color has grown on him. Regardless of what you think of the color, it’s hard to knock Fieri’s passion for his cars. Of his Chevelle, he said, “I’ll sleep in it before I sell it.”
