For years Halo games have come with a “Forge” mode that lets players create their own battlegrounds on which to do battle with one another. But when it was released earlier this year, Halo 5: Guardians didn’t include one, much to the chagrin of series fans.

That’s changed this week, just shy of two months after the game’s release, with a free update called the “Cartographer’s Gift” that brings back the Forge and with it players’ abilities to make some crazy things happen in Halo.

The update also comes with some new multiplayer maps, weapons and armors to unlock, and assassination animations with which to humiliate other players. It’s a pretty big free update, all told, which is nice, although many players were a bit sore that Forge wasn’t in the game to begin with. At least now players are free to build maps with towers that look like penises in them (you know who you are).
