Wishing the woman frequently regarded for shining light and happiness onto the lives of others a Happy Birthday, former Playboy covergirl Drew Barrymore celebrates her 42nd birthday (February 22, 1975) today.

The former wild child has reinvented herself time and time again; however, one constant is her contagious zest.

Who can forget her epic 1995 appearance in Playboy, welcoming the new year by covering the January issue. The star, aged 19 at the time, perfectly encapsulated the look of the times, wearing a baby-doll inspired sparkling hair barrette, dark lipstick, and a white Playboy logo t-shirt.

That same year, she wished David Letterman a memorable birthday. Gifting Letterman with flowers, Barrymore wore a pastel blue cropped shirt and a daisy in her hair. After discussing, what else, birthdays, conversation segues, and Barrymore famously flashes the acclaimed nighttime television icon. The duo also discussed Barrymore’s *Playboy * feature. In honor of her birthday, we’ve compiled a few of our favorite memories from the actress, producer, author (ranging from Little Girl Lost to most recently, Wildflower), mother (to daughters Olive and Frankie), and beauty entrepreneur (founder of Flower Beauty).

Barrymore stands tall as part of this influential, not to mention, gorgeous, trio, wearing a power suit with her Charlie’s Angels co-stars Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz.

#peopleilove Right? I want to live in this forever…
