Though Captain America: Civil War is getting most of the attention lately, it’s definitely not the only game in town, and Warner Bros. wanted to remind us of that. During Monday’s broadcast of the Batman-centric series Gotham, the studio dropped less than a minute of new footage from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opens in a few months. It’s not much, but what it lacks in substance it more than makes up for in intensity.
In the clip, we get a better look at Batman, chained to the ceiling and dressed in what’s been described as his “desert gear,” and we finally get a context for that shot in which Superman lands amid soldiers who quite literally kneel before him. It seems the Man of Steel has eyes and ears in faraway places, and in this case they’ve helped him corner the Dark Knight. I have no idea what happens next, but the staredown between the two heroes that closes this clip is enough to keep me interested.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016.
