Hollywood Residents Shut Down AirBNB Sex Camp

Camping is one of the best ways to spend the summer, but if you’re going to invite people to pitch tents in your back yard, you might want to let the neighbors know first.

NBC reports on the story of a community of Hollywood Hills homeowners that are fighting back against a neighbor’s listing of a property on AirBNB that they claim is primarily used for camping and outdoor humping.

“People buck naked, people doing sex out in open. Drinking,” resident and father Sanjeeb Kumar told NBC4. “Our own backyard, it’s scary. Scared to come out.”

“I think it’s really hard when a lot of us have children and we are driving by and the kids see strange things and ask, ‘Why is that going on there?’” another neighbor said.

You hear that? They’re just doing sex all over the place. Who could allow such a thing? The property in question belongs to a woman named Dita de Leon, an actress who says that she’s not doing anything wrong and that her neighbors just don’t like the idea of her having guests camping out in her backyard around their million-dollar homes.

“They’re fabricating lies that people are having sex in public. That’s not true,” she said. “That’s false. Unless they can produce proof that happened, that’s false, and they were not my guests.”

De Leon assumes that if anyone has been boning in the wilderness between people’s homes in the area, that they aren’t her renters and are probably just weirdos looking to get buck by some expensive real-estate.

“I put an ad out on Airbnb to rent out a tent so what was being rented was an actual tent, not the property. So there is no property rental,” de Leon added. “I rented out a tent. the people that came here were staying as my guest, as my visitor, for free. That was the misconception, that I was renting out this piece of dirt.”

That listing has now been removed. AirBNB gave the following statement to NBC4:

“The listing is no longer on the site. Airbnb guests expect unique and authentic travel experiences and in turn communities rightfully expect considerate visitors. We have had more than 40 million guests stay with Airbnb. Problems for hosts, guests and neighbors are extremely rare but when they happen, we work fast to make things right.”

The city of Los Angeles is currently investigating the situation to determine what, if any violations occurred, but for now, the tents still stand.

In defense of de Leon’s guests, everything about this camping area screams “let’s shag it out like there’s no tomorrow.”
