Hyundai is working on an “Iron Man” suit because the future should be as cool as we always hoped it’d be. According to Hyundai’s blog, the company is working on giving the world the closest thing we’ve seen to Marvel-esque robotics. Hyundai even references Tony Stark’s on-screen tech from the Iron Man franchise.
Sure, it’s technically more of an exoskeleton than all-encompassing brute suit, but it comes with legit superhero-like lifting power (like Stark’s outfit). With it, you can pick up about 600 pounds. The tech is 110 pounds itself and could become defense-wear for soldiers, specifically pilots who need to “move quickly over long distances.”
Part of the reason it’s come to be is to help paraplegics with regaining the ability to walk as well as helping elderly people become more mobile. It has a lot of practical reasons, yes, but most of us want it so we can fight crime.
