Keith Richards, eternal rockstar and possible demigod, is on tour right now with The Rolling Stones, a band that he’s now been a part of for more than five decades. For most 71-year-olds, embarking on a megatour might be enough to fill a year, but not Richards. No, he’s also revealed that 2015 will bring his first solo album in more than two decades.
Titled Crosseyed Heart, Richards’ new record is set to arrive on September 18. It marks the return of his collaboration with backing band The X-Pensive Winos, and the first solo record he’s produced since Main Offender in 1992. The first single, “Trouble,” will drop next Friday (July 17).
So one of rock’s great immortals is making 2015 a big year for him. Now we just have to wait and see if he’s still got that old solo fire that brought us classics like “Take it So Hard” and “Wicked as it Seems.”
