Former Famous Person Shia LaBeouf gave the internet another gloriously weird gift this week, and we’ve been having fun with it ever since. In the video above, LaBeouf stands in front of a green screen and shouts a motivational message that mostly centers around the phrase “Just DO IT!” (Sorry, Nike.)
The bizarre, contortion-filled performance is actually part of an art project LaBeouf did with the London art school Central Saint Martins. As part of a class assignment, each student was asked to write a short monologue, and then LaBeouf performed them all (three dozen of them) in front of a green screen in Los Angeles. You can watch him do the whole thing if you like, but the “Just DO IT” segment is where the fun began.
Since he was standing in front of a green screen, LaBeouf could be inserted into any footage a clever video editor had handy. Basically, LaBeouf delivered us hours of fun on a silver platter, and the internet was quick to dig right in. Here are the best video responses to LaBeouf’s manic motivational monologue.
