Last month, James Harden and his beard signed an endorsement deal with Adidas worth a reported $200 million over 13 years. Last weekend, the Houston Rockets guard was spotted wearing a pair of Air Jordans. Not surprisingly, that didn’t make Adidas very happy.

Harden was photographed by the all-seeing eyes of TMZ leaving a movie theater with girlfriend Khloe Kardashian. While Kardashian was wearing the Adidas Trefoil logo on both her sweatpants and sweatshirt, Harden had a pair of Air Jordan Vs on his feet. The reflective 3M fabric on the Jordan V’s didn’t help matters since it made the Jumpman logo pop even more under the camera’s flash. The Jordan brand is owned by Nike, the company that had sponsored Harden prior to him signing with Adidas.

Technically, Harden’s contract doesn’t start until October 1, but Adidas North America president Mark King said that Harden will be expected to keep his J’s off his feet starting next month. “That’s part of the deal,” King told ESPN. “The difference between football and basketball is that a guy like Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have a walk-around shoe. Harden does, and he will be in our lifestyle stuff.”

Maybe Kardashian’s brother-in-law Kanye West can hook Harden up with a pair of Yeezys.
