Jennifer Lawrence Said She Needed to Get Really Drunk to Perform Her First Sex Scene

Jennifer Lawrence Said She Needed to Get Really Drunk to Perform Her First Sex Scene: The Hollywood Reporter

The Hollywood Reporter

Jennifer Lawrence has been making a lot of headlines lately. Last month she called out the movie industry for paying female actresses less than their male co-stars. And then last week she gave an interview with Vogue where she admitted she was having a little problem finding romantic companions. So clearly Lawrence is not afraid to be honest in interviews.

The Hollywood Reporter ran a roundtable with several high-profile actresses in the movie industry, including Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet and (of course) Lawrence. J-Law (unsurprisingly) gives some of the best answers in the interview. At one point, she talks about filming her first sex scene for an upcoming movie with Jurassic World star Chris Pratt. When asked how she prepared for that scene, she said this:

I got really, really drunk. But then that led to more anxiety when I got home because I was like, “What have I done? I don’t know.” And he was married. And it was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach. And I knew it was my job, but I couldn’t tell my stomach that. So I called my mom, and I was like, “Will you just tell me it’s OK?” It was just very vulnerable. And you don’t know what’s too much. You want to do it real, you want everything to be real, but then … That was the most vulnerable I’ve ever been.

So, Jennifer Lawrence prepares for sex the way most of us get ready for actual sex.

None of the other actresses said they had done the same.
