Jennifer Lawrence, Everyone’s Favorite Adorable Klutz, has had so many moments of public embarrassment that she’s starting to worry if people think it’s an act. Guesting on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night to promote the final Hunger Games film, Lawrence revealed that she recently asked another talk show to cut out a moment when she slipped, just so she wouldn’t have to address the growing suspicion that she’s making it up for attention.

“I’m afraid people think it’s like a schtick, and I’m like ‘It actually makes me kinda mad when it happens,’” she said. “It’s not fun. It’s embarrassing.”

Speaking of embarrassing, Lawrence opened up to Fallon about a couple of situations in which she did something much more cringeworthy than falling down. There was the time she was at a party and thought the woman she was talking to was Elizabeth Taylor (who died in 2011). Then there was the time she was at a restaurant in Paris and saw Francis Ford Coppola at a nearby table.

“I debated the whole time 'Do I go up to him? Do I not go up?’ Finally I was like 'I have to or I’ll regret it for the rest of my life.’

"I started walking and I noticed I was barefoot but I was like 'Maybe…they probably won’t notice.’”

Turns out worrying that you’re barefoot can make you overlook the fact that your dress is completely unzipped, and that’s how you end up flashing one of the world’s greatest filmmakers.
