Linsanity is one of those sports phenomena that seems like it happened a decade ago, even though it was just four seasons ago. Since that heyday when Jeremy Lin could do no wrong for the New York Knicks, Lin has gone back to his journeyman ways. He has played for the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers. And this offseason, he signed a two-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets. He also used the offseason to get a truly awful haircut.

Lin was spotted at the NBA Global Games in China sporting an honest-to-goodness bowl cut. This was a hair cut that would make Jim Carrey’s Dumb And Dumber character Lloyd Christmas proud. Just look at the look on Lin’s former Lakers teammate Wesley Johnson’s face in that picture above. You can almost hear Johnson saying, “Dude, what’s up with your hair?”

Lin seems to be in the middle of some kind of hair existential crisis. In August, he reposted someone else’s Photoshopped handiwork with the caption, “Might just go ahead and do this hairstyle.”

Saw this and had to repost. Might just go ahead and do this hairstyle instead lolll (📷: @joannewcj)

Even Dragon Ball Z is a source of inspiration.

Lin could certainly benefit from one of these cool hairstyles for fall. Hopefully, he’ll get his hair game in check before the season officially starts. We can only wonder what Hornets owner Michael Jordan thinks of the ‘do.
