Remember Jojo? The pop singer is back, and touring the world to promote her new album. In a new interview with the British magazine Fault, she said, “I think it’s a wonderful time to be a woman in music.”

Jojo was only 13 when she hit number one on the Billboard Pop chart with her single, “Leave (Get Out)“ in 2004. After many years of label contract disputes, she signed with Atlantic Records, and in 2016, she released her first studio album in ten years, Mad Love. She told Fault she’s thrilled to be touring again. “It’s just my favorite place to get shit out: on stage. It’s my happy place.”

The interview features a stunning set of photos taken by Jack Alexander, including the ones embedded above. (See more here.) In the pics, Jojo looks gorgeous and confident. She told the magazine that having more life experience has given her a new perspective. “I think we live in a really amazing time where rules don’t apply, and I feel really comfortable and empowered to do what I want to do. I think that embracing both the feminine and masculine sides of me makes me feel like myself. I think there’s no one way to be a woman, to be a young woman, to be successful.”
