Lake County, Ohio Judge Michael A. Cicconetti is one of those judges who likes to give out punishments that fit the crime. What was Victoria Bascom’s crime? She and three other friends took a 30-mile cab from Cleveland to Painesville, and then ditched out on the fare.
Her punishment? Easy, she can either spend 60 days in jail, or walk 30 miles in 48 hours. Which one do you think she chose? Yep! Miss Bascom’s paying the debt to society by walking around the county fairgrounds 48 times.
Bascom was also sentenced to four months probation and ordered to pay United Cab $100 in restitution, and is currently also being publicly humiliated on the Internet. Speaking of which, here’s her mugshot:
So what did we learn here? If you’re going to ditch out on a cab fare, maybe don’t get dropped off at your house.
