A movie about un-planned parenthood will directly benefit Planned Parenthood, if Jason Reitman has anything to say about it. Reitman will be hosting an all-female reading of the 2007 hit film Juno. After five-seasons of doing live-reads, the 2016 election had Reitman feeling as if he wanted to rekindle the tradition as political resistance. He recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly on the subject.
“Like many other people, I felt like I wanted to do something. I wanted to find a way to contribute to the causes that have never felt more important…this show…could be used as a tool to not only raise money for causes…like Planned Parenthood to connect with an audience.“
As with most entertainment world events, the reading takes place in Los Angeles at the Ace Hotel. Tickets are on sale here. A few additional cast surprises are set to appear so stay tuned to Jason Reitman’s twitter page.
Resistance to Donald Trump as he moves to erode federal funding to Planned Parenthood is crucial. As this presidential election was one little doodle that can’t be undid, home skillet.
