Kama Sutra Sunday: The Gold Arch

By Staff

Kama Sutra Sunday: The Gold Arch:

“A man, also, who carries the marks of nails and teeth on some parts of his body, influences the mind of a woman, even though it be ever so firm. In short, nothing tends to increase love so much as the effects of marking with the nails, and biting.” – Chapter IV, On Pressing, Or Marking, Or Scratching With The Nails.

Well. Turns out the Kama Sutra has a kinky side.

We’ve already reviewed how oddly specific this ancient text can be, but the chapter on mild-to-moderate BDSM really takes the cake. It goes so far as to outline eight different kinds of marks scratching or pressing can produce, ranging from the self-explanatory (“Half-Moon”) to the vaguely familiar (“Tiger’s Claw) to the just plain absurd (“Leaf of the Blue Lotus”), all of which, it posits, you should display with pride.

Maybe so. While some might find it unsettling and still others a bit showy, there will be enough women curiously aroused by the prospect of a man covered in claw marks that it might extend an invitation without actually extending an invitation, if you catch our drift. Let your claw marks do the talking.{“pbembedwidget”:“video”,“id”:“1371”}
