How do you make a music video for the comeback single of a beloved pop star when said pop star happens to have died almost four decades earlier? The answer is clear: Get one of the most famous women in the world to indulge in a bit of cosplay.
The video for “The Wonder of You,” a single from the new album The Wonder of You: Elvis Presley with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, sees Kate Moss dressed in an outfit closely resembling the King’s ‘68 Comeback Special leather jumpsuit, lip-synching her heart out. We also get scenes of Moss lounging around looking appropriately glamorous. This might be her most elegant and sexy outing since she covered our 60th Anniversary issue.
It might not be as rock 'n’ roll as the King was used to in his heyday, but there’s no denying that this classy black-and-white promo is a step up from the days of such cinematic schlock as Wild in the Country or Kissin’ Cousins. Viva Las Posthumous Releases, as the saying almost goes.
