Sometimes Kendall Jenner’s life feels like one giant piece of performance art, so it makes sense that she’d be curious about the real thing. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of W Magazine’s Art Issue last November, Jenner, and her equally performance-oriented BFF Gigi Hadid recreated some iconic works of performance art by high art luminaries like Marina Abramovic and Yoko Ono.

In a just released behind-the-scenes clip, Jenner discusses her desire to enter the art world. “I’ve always wanted to be an artist. I mean, being a supermodel’s great, flying on private jets, Karl’s my friend, but I think my soul is being an artist,” she said. “When you’re a model, you’re a mannequin for other people. I want to be a director of my own vision.” Oh, Kendall. Our hearts bleed for thee.
