Kevin Hart is serious about his sneakers.
Anyone who follows the comedian on Instagram has seen a collection of heat that would make most sneakerheads drool. Hart has rocked everything from Bred Air Jordan I’s to Nike x Ricardo Tisci Air Force I’s to Hender Scheme’s vegetable tanned version of an Air Jordan IV. He even has his own Nike training sneaker coming out later this year.
But even though Hart has a collection of 500-600 sneakers and plenty of celebrity clout, there are still some kicks he can’t get his hands on. In an interview with Vogue, Hart discussed his inability to secure a pair of the OVO Air Jordan 10s designed by Drake.
“I have the cream [OVO Air Jordan] 12s…. But they just came out in black and Drake is being a jerk,” Hart laughs. “I don’t like to use my relationships to get them, but I’m going to have to get those.”
Part of that might have to do with the fact that the black OVO 10s don’t release until February 13 to coincide with NBA All-Star Weekend in Drake’s hometown of Toronto. But you would think that Hart would have been seeded an early pair, especially since his sneaker philosophy is “big on limited editions. I’m big on the ‘you can’t get them’ or ‘can’t find them.’”
Here’s hoping Drake can take a break from dissing Meek Mill to send Kevin his shoes.
