Lauren Hutton started modeling in her early 20s, and fifty years later, the rebellious all-American beauty is still at it. Last year, she walked the Bottega Veneta runway alongside Gigi Hadid and modeled H&M’s fall fashions. Now at 73, Hutton stars in a new Calvin Klein underwear campaign alongside Kirsten Dunst, Rashida Jones, Laura Harrier, Maya Thurman-Hawke, Nathalie Love and Chase Sui Wonders. Hutton appears at the end of the minute-long ad, wearing an unbuttoned shirt over a bra:
The black-and-white video is directed by Sofia Coppola, who says on the campaign website, “I just put together some of my favorite girls, and I thought it was so cool to see women from 18 to 70 in this playful, sexy way.” Coppola selected the age-diverse models herself, and it makes sense that Hutton came to mind, because she has been a family friend of the Coppolas for more than 30 years.
Of her choices, Coppola says,“I wanted cool, smart women. And I was very proud that we had two Harvard graduates in our group. They have real bodies. And I think they relate to me, and to the camera, in a different way—they’re not so much like goddesses; they’re more approachable.” Each model is also featured in a solo video.
