First Mortal Kombat X players could make Friday the Thirteenth’s unkillable psycho Jason take on the superwarrior alien from Predator. Now they can pit human lampshade maker Leatherface of Texas Chainsaw Massacre against H.R. Giger’s iconic xenomorph from Alien. Because Mortal Kombat is awesome.
The two movie villains are coming in Kombat Pack 2, the next set of downloadable content for Mortal Kombat X on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The trailer above shows both characters in action, with Leatherface tearing up kombatants with his chainsaw. If the alien looks a bit weird, it’s because it burst from the chest of a “tarkatan,” a race of folks who exist in Mortal Kombat and who have huge teeth and big gross knives that spring out of their wrists.
Leatherface and the xeno are part of a five-character pack, which includes Goro, the four-armed Mortal Kombat villain, and two other new characters: Triborg and Bo’Rai Cho. Triborg is yet another kung-fu robot who’s new to the franchise with this DLC pack, while Bo’Rai Cho is mostly just a walking fat joke who first debuted in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and who uses drunkenness and farting against his opponents.
There’s no release date for Kombat Pack 2 just yet, nor is there a price for the five characters plus new skins that comes with it. But really, is any price too high to make your own Alien versus Predator scenario in Mortal Kombat? I think not.
