It has been 25 years since Lenny Kravitz released “It ain’t over til it’s over.” Today, Kravitz is perhaps better known as Zoe’s dad and that guy from The Hunger Games movies. But Kravitz never lost his innate sense for figuring out what’s cool. Today, he is as sought after for his design taste as he is for music. Kravitz previously worked with CB2 on a line of furniture, and his latest collaboration is with Swiss watchmaker Les Artisans de Genevé on a limited edition Rolex, dubbed the LK 01.
Th LK 01 is based on a Rolex Chrosmograph Daytona, reference 116523, but has been customized with unique details that Kravitz selected. The aspect that jumps out first, and the one that embodies Kravitz’s rock n’ roll spirit, is the cuff style leather strap. It is made entirely by hand of luxurious Barenia calf leather. The bezel has been replaced with a golden bakelite one and the dial has golden markers while preserving the distinctive red Daytona text.
One of the coolest things about the watch is the case. Wrapped in leather with golden accents in keeping with the watch’s color scheme, the case also doubles as a Bluetooth speaker.
The LK 01 is limited to just 55 pieces and will sell for $41,837.49.
