Considering all the booze, drugs and scantily clad millennials at these things, it should come as no surprise that people are having tons of sex at music festivals. Heaps of it. Though it was something of an assumption, Lovehoney recently confirmed this insight with a nationwide survey of over 1,100 people.

According to results, one in four Lollapalooza attendees want to get it on at this year’s music fest, which kicks off this Thursday. Of all the acts at this year’s celebrations, the most popular artists who attendees hope to have sex to is Blink 182 (what? How? Why?), according to 10 percent of those surveyed.

The (kind of?) reunited band was followed by Lorde at eight percent, Muse with six percent and Tove Lo with four percent. A surprising result, when the festival’s own headliner, Chance the Rapper, didn’t break the top five. Also absent from the list were performers Big Sean and the uber-sexual Charli XCX –presumably, this survey was released before the “Boys” video debut.

If you think people are looking to hook up at music festivals, you’re right. Even those who haven’t had sex at festivals want to, according to one-third of the sample. Just don’t take the gathered hedonism as licence to penetrate. One must always first establish consent, even if it’s bellowed over Brandon Flowers beautiful voice.

“Music festivals bring together thousands of people to enjoy great music in an amazing atmosphere,” Lovehoney’s co-founder Neal Slateford mentions of our proclivity to fornicate at festivals. “Great sex and great music go hand-in-hand.”

But singles: Here’s where things may get disappointing. Of those who’ve ticked “music festival sex” off of their sexual bucket lists, 40 percent has sex with their partner. But still, more than one-quarter of festival-goers had sex with somebody they met at the festival and 10 percent even found love and started relationship afterward. So bring condoms.

Because music festivals are so unobstructed and public, you may be curious where all this sex is taking place. Thankfully, we’ve been given that answer as well. According to 30 percent of the sample, the tent is the place to do the deed, followed by the car sex at 15 percent. Third comes as a bit of a shock, with 13 percent saying they’ve had sex “in the crowd.” In fourth was a “quiet spot in the field” followed by an RV. Now if you’re wondering which festival is most fuelled by sex, that would be Lollapalooza, then Coachella, Austin City Limits, Burning Man and SXSW.

Judging by these results, here’s what you’ve got to do in order to successfully have sex at a music festival. First, go to Lollapalooza, your best bet at success is there. Second, bring a tent. This seems to be the place most festival-goers feel comfortable doing the deed. Third, if you really want things to go smoothly, approach the lady you’ve got your eye on when Blink 182–or some other nostalgic band/group from the ‘90s performs–take the stage, because that’s when most people want to have sex for some bizarre reason. Lastly, if you don’t have tickets to Lollapalooza–get on it. The fest starts Thursday.
