“Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me.”
— “The Rich Boy” by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld was only 7 years old when the Great Gatsby author died, but he has certainly lived up to Fitzgerald’s words whether he’s aware of it or not. The latest example of this is a boxing set that Lagerfeld created for Louis Vuitton. To celebrate the 118th anniversary of its iconic LV monogram, the fashion house commissioned six creatives to imagine new products that showcase the logo. Lagerfeld’s idea took the form of a trunk that houses a full-size punching bag and stand. A separate suitcase holds a pair of boxing gloves and a training mat.

Only 25 of the punching bag trunks will be created. On the Louis Vuitton site it says that the price of the bags is available upon request, but it has been estimated at $175,000. Comparatively, the suitcase with the boxing gloves seems like a bargain at $5,900. Floyd Mayweather really needs to buy one of these.
