Playboy subscribers are getting a little something extra this month: The October issue comes with a lethally hot cover inspired by the new 2K game Mafia III. Set in 1968 in the fictional city of New Bordeaux, the game follows Lincoln Clay, a combat veteran hell-bent on revenge against the mobsters who obliterated the only family he’s ever known. To do so, he recruits a new crew for help, including one badass chick named Cassandra.
For the cover shoot, we enlisted 2016 Playmate of the Year Eugena Washington to channel her inner Cassandra. Designed with plenty of ‘60s swagger and featuring coverlines relevant to game’s plot, the cover resembles an issue of Playboy that you would expect to find lying around New Bordeaux in 1968. In fact, when you’re in the game you’ll find copies of the magazine hidden throughout the city; you can even pause from the action to flip through them.
Check out the cover, above, and keep scrolling for outtakes from Eugena’s photo shoot. When you’ve picked your jaw up off the floor, see if you can spot all of the Easter eggs listed below.
- Playboy magazine from Mafia II
- Clay’s army dog tags
- Big Break Cigarettes, smoked throughout the game
- Clay’s army jacket
- Photos from the war
- Drinking glass from in-game tavern Sammy’s
- Clay’s lighter
- Apt 223: Clay’s army division
Mafia III is out on October 7 from 2K.
