Marvel is relaunching its series of comics about the Inhumans, a superpowered group whose origins lie in the “Terrigen Mist,” unleashed by Black Bolt in the 2013 story arc Terrigenesis. This gave way to a new generation of inhuman characters, including fan favorite Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. The original family of Inhumans, led by Black Bolt, preside over their domain on the moon.
The comic line Royals will focus on the presiding family of Inhumans and their lunar activities. Black Bolt will focus on the inhuman patriarch himself, and Secret Warriors will be follow the street-level Inhumans on earth.
Of Inhumans: Prime, a one-shot set to lay the groundwork, editor Charles Beacham told ScreenRant “It’s really what sets the landscape for the Inhumans Universe going forward. As we were putting together these books and talking to the creative teams, it was really amazing how organically these stories came together.”
With Marvel continuing the superhero infighting with titles like X-Men vs. Inhumans and Civil War II, some sort of Inhuman civil war is likely to take place as well. Calling it now: Inhuman: Infight will be a Marvel solicitation in 2018.
Artist Jonboy Meyers is bringing a new look for the characters’ relaunch, using a more vivid color palette for some of Marvel’s more morose looking characters. Take a look through some of the redesigns below.
