Diamond smugglers, rejoice! Soon, you will have a transportation option beyond the Mercedes Benz SUV. This week, Mercedes made official its announcement to develop its own version of the truck, the X-Class, and debuted a handful of concept images that showcase their new vision.
Unfortunately for envious Americans wishing for luxury and Home Depot-grade ruggedness, the car is not going to be availble in the United States. Mercedes says that it plans to sell the truck in Argentina, Brazil, Germany, South Africa and Great Britain. No word on whether it will ever get a US release.
Here we see the more rugged offroad model. There will also be a fancier model, pictured above in silvery white.
On our end, we’re wondering who the buyer is for this car. Though flashy and unique, it’s difficult to imagine the American market jumping all over it. For people looking to load hay bales in the back, a Mercedes Benz moniker may alienate you price-wise. In any case, it kind of looks like a stripped-down warthog from Halo so that’s pretty cool.
