If you were a guy who was into cars and came of age in the 1980s, you likely had one of two sports car posters hanging on your bedroom wall, either the Lamborghini Countach or the Ferrari Testarossa. For fans of the latter, the introduction to the supercar probably came from the popular TV show Miami Vice. Now one of the Testarossas from the show is being sold on eBay.

The Buy It Now price on the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa is 1.75 million and it comes with documentation that supports it being one of two “hero” cars used by Crockett and Tubbs on Miami Vice. The 5-speed V12 has 16,000 miles on it, a tan leather interior, and a CD player which was probably the height of technology when the show aired.

According to legend, Enzo Ferrari was upset when he saw that a replica Ferrari Daytona was being used when Miami Vice first aired and threatened a lawsuit. Eventually Ferrari and the show’s producers, Universal Studios, agreed to blow up the Daytona on the show and replace it with an authentic Testarossa provided by the manufacturer.
