When it comes to Playboy parties, it doesn’t get more Playboy than being required to show up to a party in silk pajamas, to match the preferred aesthetic of our founder Hugh M. Hefner. Such has been the draw of our annual Midsummer’s Night Dream party since it kicked off in 1976.
Since then, MSND, most regularly held at the Mansion and inspired by scenes from William Shakespeare’s comedy of the same name, has welcomed celebrities, athletes, comedians, and other public figures from all corners of American culture. Due to pthe public’s neverending interest in attending one of these exclusive Mansion parties, last year, the lacy, racy celebration expanded into a two-city event, unfolding at both the Playboy Mansion in Holmbly Hills, California as well as Marquee Nightclub in the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. On Saturday, July 29, the Marquee will transform from the Strip’s hottest nightclub into an enchanted forest to bring the fantasies of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to life.
For those of you who already have tickets to the Vegas event, don’t forget the dress code. Silk, lace and sheer are all acceptable fabrics. Pro-tip: Show up before the witching hour to enjoy an open bar from 10:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. For the procrastinators out there, you’re in luck. We have a small lot of last-minute tickets available, for sale here
To make sure you’re thoroughly excited (how could you not be?), we put together this flashback gallery, featuring pictures of the iconic party from the 1970s and 1980s, for you to peruse while you pregame. If these photos are any indicator, there’s a good chance you won’t be getting any sleep Saturday night, despite your state of dress. Sweet dreams.
