Hop into the Test Bed, a bi-weekly series where couples try out high-tech sex toys—curated by pleasure marketplace My Secret Luxury—and then discuss what happened over G-chat. This week's toy: The Minna Limon Vibrator, which Celeste, a food stylist, and Stan, a writer, tried out last

"Minna Limon gives total control to the users," says My Secret Luxury's Stacy Rybchin, by letting them record their own vibration patterns and change up the level of intensity on the spot. "Finally, Minna Limon is an excellent clitoral vibrator—It's tip is designed for direct clitoral stimulation."

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

CELESTE: My first reaction was that the packaging looks like an expensive vinyl toy or an Apple gadget.

STAN: Agreed. It came in a sleek cylindrical container. The word "vibrator" isn't written anywhere.

CELESTE: The branding is a lot of pink, rounded sans serif type, so it's pretty girly and cute. In fact, it's probably the least intimidating sex toy I've seen. It's made of soft rubbery silicon, and looks like an egg with a nipple on top.

STAN: The whole thing is bright pink—like Virgin-America-in-flight-lighting pink.

CELESTE: I liked the material because it's soft and doesn't feel cold. And the toy fits pretty nicely in your hand.

STAN: I kept calling it an "egg" even though it's called "Lemon."

CELESTE: Limon—it's Spanish.

STAN: Ah… Limon—like a fresh zest.

IN THE ACT

STAN: There are different settings. Push once to turn it on. The manual calls this "Free Play." I guess that means do whatever.

CELESTE: The harder you squeeze, the faster it vibes.

STAN: Push twice to go to a memory mode—i.e., squeeze out a short pattern and the device remembers it.

CELESTE: Like Morse code.

STAN: i. am. blowin. up. dis. puss. y. Push thrice and your pattern is locked.

CELESTE: You grabbed it before I could get my clothes off, so I'd say it came out immediately during foreplay. And that's probably a good thing.

STAN: It's a good part of the total-vagina stimulation-package. Basically, I rubbed you before licking you. When you got wet, I started using it on a slower setting. You seemed to be feeling it. CELESTE: Super-high settings usually make me numb in about 20 seconds. So we used it slow mostly, and it's good for that because you can lock it in a really gentle mode without ever having to worry about accidentally changing the intensity.

STAN: The more we used it, the easier and more intuitive it was to change settings and speeds. I was surprised by how much you wanted to use it on me, too. And when you put it right below the head of my dick, I was a little surprised by how much I liked it. It was certainly better than when you put it under my balls.

CELESTE: Well, I was just trying it out.

FINAL VERDICT

STAN: Do you think we're gonna keep using it? It seemed like a bit of a chore. But I guess we could set it to a speed we like, put it on the bed somewhere and grab it when we feel like it.

CELESTE: Yeah, I'll probably play with it on my own more without you. I feel like the memory mode could come in handy, but its hard to know what kind of pattern would feel good without experimenting more.

STAN: Unfortunately, you didn't get off when we used it. That probably has more to do with your second-rate sexual partner than the toy.

CELESTE: Lol. No, but it did turn me on and probably made the sex better once we put it away.

STAN: Agreed!

CELESTE: I think it's best to use at the very beginning of foreplay. And if you're a lady who can get off with external stimulation, you should buy this toy.
