There’s a new Brooklyn hipster-hop duo called Das Racist making the rounds with an homage to stoner snack staples called “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.” And one of the guys is even named Kumar: Queens-born Himanshu Kumar. His partner in rhyme is Victor Vasquez, and together the guys make music that’s equal parts hip-hop and Cheech & Chong. No, check that. They have a wicked sense of humor, yes, but their music is no novelty act. We think. Maybe.
