Many a man dreams of winning an award for his mustache, but only one per year is honored with the prestigious Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year Award.
And 2014’s finalists are in, the American Mustache Institute announced recently.
Yes, this is indeed a real thing. The AMI was founded in 1965 to battle discrimination against the mustached people of America, and seven years ago they launched the Goulet Award, which is given to the person who “best represents or contributes to the Mustached American community during the prior year.”
This year’s finalists (which you can vote on here) include the Cleveland Indians Pitching Staff, Eric Holder and the Milwaukee Brewers mascot, among others.
The winner will be announced October 25.
