The best clothes tell a story. Whether it’s a concert T-shirt you’ve owned forever or a pair of shoes that were made by hand using traditional methods, we gravitate toward garments that say something about themselves and, therefore, say something about us.

But that story isn’t always an interesting one. You know how annoying it is when someone can’t stop talking about how they’re gluten-free when just a month ago you saw them scarf down an entire meat-lover’s pizza (and the cheesy crust)? Well, now there’s a pair of jeans that is just as preachy. Denim brand Naked & Famous created a pair of organic gluten-free vegan jeans. The 12-ounce Japanese selvedge denim is made from unbleached organic cotton that is dyed using natural indigo from the Indigofera plant, which can be composted and used as fertilizer after the dye is extracted from it. The vegan aspect comes by replacing the traditionally leather patch on the back of the jeans with a patch made out of heavy-duty cardboard.

To be fair, Naked & Famous is having some fun with the gluten-free part since, you know, jeans aren’t made out of wheat. This is the same brand that created glow-in-the-dark jeans. And the idea of creating more sustainable clothes is an admirable one. But it’s just too easy to picture getting stuck at a party talking to someone who won’t shutup about how green their jeans are. Because you know that is only going to lead to a discussion about how you have to see their shaman/yoga teacher/DJ who will change your life.

If you’re able to wear these jeans without annoying everyone around, you can pick up a pair for $155 in the Super Skinny Guy and Weird Guy styles from Tate & Tokyo.
