Never Sleeps: Cinco de Mayo:

The reason why Cinco de Mayo is celebrated may have been lost along the way, but this Saturday thousands of Americans will be partying in the streets with booze, tequila shots, tacos, and oversized sombreros. Here are some of our favorite parties taking place across America.New York

Vamos is throwing yet another one of their wild Cinco de Mayo parties, which counted over 2000 people in attendance last year. The three-day festival kicked off last night with their Cinco de Mayo Warm-Up Dinner. Head over to 1st avenue on an empty stomach to feast on Vamos’s signature tacos and frozen margaritas in the restaurant that they’ve transformed into party central. There will be a ten-piece Latin band as well as a slew of DJs spinning into the night. If you’re still up for partying on Sunday, they are holding a huge brunch featuring the special, buy any entrée and add $7 for a bottomless frozen margarita. Oh, and the party is hosted by Patron tequila, so you know all the drinks are going to be unbelievably good! **Los Angeles**

If you’re tired of the usual festivities on Cinco de Mayo, shake things up by heading to Lucha VaVOOM’s Cinco De Mayan celebration. They’ve got a lot of stuff going on that night, including but not limited to Aztec dancers, mariachis, incredible stripteases, and Mexican masked wrestling. Attending something as wild as this is a lot of fun, and you’ll still be able to find your way to a bar after the festivities come to a close. This year your ticket will get you into the after-party where all the performers will be in attendance, including those striptease artists we mentioned earlier.

It’s not like you’ll need to look far for a bar where you can take body shots off willing women in Las Vegas, but just in case you’re out of ideas, Palms is throwing a weekend-long party of epic proportions. DJ Roger Sanchez will be spinning by the pool all afternoon, then Diddy will be hosting a fight after-party at Rain Nightclub. If you’re not up for a run-of-the-mill night out in Las Vegas, a lot of the Mexican restaurants are doing specials on shots, margaritas and tacos, like El Segundo Sol.

Last year’s Made in San Francisco festivities were such a hit, they’re doing it all over again! To celebrate the victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla, San Francisco is showcasing its rich Mexican culture through food, drink, and partying. With 11 locally owned Mexican restaurants serving up their best grub as well as tequila cocktails from not one but three vendors, we can’t think of any other way you would possibly spend your time on Saturday if you’re in San Francisco. Tickets for the event are $55, which grants you unlimited food and drink.

There are two places in Chicago we wish we could be. Over at the Smoke Daddy BBQ house where they’re making a “mystery meat–filled piñata” along with the traditional candy-filled one, which kind of piques our interest. Are we to expect mini tacos beaten out of a multicolored papier-mâché jalapeño?! And then there’s the Arts ’n’ Drafts Cinco de Mayo pig roast party. They’re roasting a 100-pound pig which will be made into shredded pork tacos for all to enjoy. There will also be live bands, and two local home breweries will be serving up their best suds. Proceeds will go to the Auxiliary Art Center's children's music and art classes, so you’ll know that your pork and beer hangover will be for a purpose.
