Two new TV spots for the Assassin’s Creed movie debuted on Monday, showing off its badass fight scenes, time-traversing plot and confoundingly strong cast. Here’s “We Work in the Dark…”

…and here’s “Destined for Great Things.”

We can already say that, with Michael Fassbender, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson and Charlotte Rampling in the mix, the adaptation is an impressive attempt at legitimizing video-game filmmaking. This summer’s Warcraft had many hoping that the film would elevate video game movies to a higher level of prestige. As the reviews indicated, not so much. Then again, judging by the amount of profit the film made, we’ll be seeing many more video game films for the foreseeable future.

The jury is still out on whether Assasin’s Creed can bring about the first critical success of the genre. But with its stellar cast, deadly wrist daggers and 15th-century parkour, it appears the film has a shot.

Assassin’s Creed comes out December 21.
