The Internet loves to make up hashtags for people to use in captions of their Instagram pictures. Most of the time, they make sense. “Sideboob” is literally just the side of a boob. Workout Wednesday is people (usually women) wearing workout clothes pretending they just went to the gym. These are understandable hashtags. But there’s a new on that just hit the online world that is a bit strange.

Women all over the Internet are posting about “thighbrow.” And, unlike the name suggestions, it is not an abnormal growth of hair on the upper part of a woman’s leg. According to Elle, a thighbrow is “a set of folds that frames the tops of thighs and separates leg from butt.” Here’s an example:

If you’re having trouble figuring out what it means based on that picture and that description, here’s a version of the photo with the thighbrow circled:

Yep, that’s now a “thighbrow” as opposed to what it was called before: “A thing that most people have but there isn’t a name for because why on Earth would you need to name it?” Thighbrow is a little easier to say than that.

I stood up on it too.

This could lead to some very nasty fights in the future about what does or does not constitute a “thighbrow” (which I will continue to use in quotations marks to highlight how ridiculous it is).

For example, this is definitely thighbrow:

But what happens if the thighbrow is seen from behind, like this:

And is any sort of crease on the upper part of a woman’s leg a thighbrow? Here are some cases I’ve found that I would put in the “questionable thighbrow” category:

There’s definitely a brow of some sort on those thighs, but it’s sort of like when a woman shaves off her eyebrows and then draws them on using makeup. Who knows! All we know is we expect women to be posting about these for a long time, because frankly any photo with thighbrow is going to look pretty good.
