Few shoes can whip sneakerheads into a frenzy like the Nike Mag that Michael J. Fox wore in Back To The Future 2. And with a tweet that Nike posted on Monday morning, that frenzy is being whipped anew.

At precisely 9:00 AM ET on Monday morning, the official Nike Twitter account posted a message that read, “.@realmikefox Excited for tomorrow.”

Realmikefox is the Twitter handle for Michael J. Fox, who a few hours later responded, “Let’s do it, @Nike.”

While it remains to be seen what Nike is “excited” about and what Fox wants to “do,” speculation immediately turned to a release of the famous Nike Mag sneakers, from the movie which featured power laces. In 2011, Nike released a small number of the sneakers sans power laces via an eBay auction to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research that raised $5.6 million.

In October of last year, Nike presented Fox with a pair of Nike Mags that actually tightened on their own, similar to the sneakers shown in the film.

At the time of the announcement, Nike said a limited-edition run of the Nike Mags would again go up for auction in spring of 2016, but that failed to materialize. Perhaps tomorrow’s event will reveal more details on that front. In its Twitter responses to predictably freaked out sneakerheads, the brand teased users with lines like “Stand by for more details,” and “Stick around and find out,” while adding a link to its Nike+ app.

Nike has already demonstrated a commitment to using the “self-lacing” technology beyond Back To The Future-themed kicks. The HyperAdapt 1.0, which features a sensor in the heel that tightens the lacing system when the wearer inserts his or her foot, will be released in time for the holidays this year.
