Not only will Game of Thrones star Kit Harington be appearing in the next Call of Duty game, but he’ll be the guy trying to kill you—along with probably 3,000 of his closest henchmen.
Publisher Activision announced today that Harington is, in fact, appearing in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, after video of him getting all scanned and digitized appeared on the internet yesterday. Not only will he be in the game, he’ll be a villain, joining the ranks of such folks as Kevin Spacey, Lance Henriksen, Christopher Meloni and Katee Sackhoff in a turn as a (hopefully extensively monologuing) CoD bad guy.
Activision also mentioned in its press release that director Guy Ritchie of such films as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and RocknRolla has helped out with the game. It sounds like Ritchie’s role was to help develop story and characters for the game, “assisting in bringing Kit Harington’s character to life,” but not actually write or direct them.
There aren’t any details other than that, but Activision did release a video showing more behind-the-scenes footage of Harington in his motion-capture gear, used to film and digitize him for scenes in the game. Just think: Now you’ll have a chance to try to end Jon Snow’s watch by taking his evil digital ass down.
