Olivia Wilde, a longtime Hillary Clinton supporter, has been vocal in her concerns about a Trump presidency—and she’s taking action. She plans to participate in the Women’s March on Washington on January 20, and in her latest tweet, she wrote, “Fellow Americans, we are not defined by our narrow-minded president elect. If you witness discrimination, stand up and demand justice.”
Yesterday, she took a more personal stand, chopping off several inches of her long blonde hair in an effort to not look anything like Melania Trump:
Wilde isn’t the only woman who felt the need to update her appearance after the election. Mariangela Moore, a colorist and stylist in Washington, D.C., told New York magazine she’s had many women come in asking for dramatic changes. “One of my clients said, ‘Think of Melania Trump and go in the opposite direction. She said, ‘I don’t want to be that person people see as sexual. I want to be seen as strong.’”
Wilde’s stylist Harry Josh shared a pic of her new hairstyle, as well. If this is what political activism will look like post-inauguration, then prepare to see a lot of shoulder-skimming bobs.
