If you logged into Google Maps today looking to map the most efficient ride to get to work, you probably were disturbed by the number of Ghosts and Cherries that had infested the streets. Luckily savvy Internet users can clear those pesky roadblocks with the help of a ravenous yellow creature.
One day before April Fool’s Days Google created a fun way for their users to play Pac-Man on their popular Maps function. If you’re looking for something to distract you during the workday, this seems like the best way to do so today.
Dorkly created a couple of gifs of the gameplay.
The controls don’t seem perfectly responsive, and Pac-Man doesn’t seem to have learned the art of the fork in the road. But hey, at least you don’t have to pay a quarter in order to play it. A couple of tips for users: Find an area with a lot of intersections so you always have a way to get away from the Ghosts. Also, pick a city with a grid system. You do not want to get stuck in a cul-de-sac with four Ghosts chasing you and not a single power pellet in sight.
Also, this might be the first time you’ll want to use MapQuest if you actually need to find directions.
