As the offspring of music royalty – specifically, the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson – the mere mention of Paris Jackson’s name almost instantaneously brings to mind entertainment icons. That means the people will be constantly and eternally comparing the 19 year old to other famous people.
Once in awhile, a reference hits the nail on the head, like this May 2017 Vanity Fair piece. Anointed a “Vanity Fair It Girl” in a profile by Derek Blasberg, Jackson was photographed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino and decked out in full on old-Hollywood glamour by French stylist Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele.
Who can forget when Michael Jackson and Madonna attended the 1991 Academy Awards together, when Madge herself replicated Monroe before performing “Sooner or Later,” the Steven Sondheim song from Dick Tracy and recipient of “Best Original Song” that year.
Jackson’s usual aesthetic tends to veer towards a more “hippie” vibe, as exhibited via her personal Instagram page, where she frequently incorporates peace signs, tie-dye and ripped-up denim into her day-to-day looks.
Though, like her flamboyant father, she also shows she knows how to glam it up for the cameras.
Having recently signed with top agency IMG Models, Jackson appears poised to make a splash in her own right. Already having racked up top magazine covers including Rolling Stone, Harper’s Bazaar, and CR Fashion Book, as well as guest-starring on Lee Daniel’s TV series Star, her career is taking off at a lightening speed pace, and we’re sure there is much to look forward to as she appears to be a force worth watching.
