Depending on your age and interest in 1960s pop music, you either know Phil Spector as a legendary Rock ‘n Roll producer or as the guy who wore crazy, bizarre wigs at his murder trial. Well these newly released images of him will shatter both those illusions.
In 2003 Spector was convicted for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. After spending over a decade in prison for the crime, the California Department of Corrections released pictures from last October of the then 73-year-old music icon. Predictably, he doesn’t look great especially without access to his famous (or, more appropriately, infamous) wigs.
According to a Department of Corrections spokesman the pictures were taken as Spector was being transported to the California Health Care Facility, which provides help to the state’s sickest inmates.
