A Porsche looks incredible standing still. But to truly appreciate the beauty of the form and understand why folks like Jerry Seinfeld are such passionate collectors, you need to see the cars in motion, preferably on hairy mountain roads.

Fortunately the folks at Curves Magazine out of Germany were happy to oblige. The crew took nine Porsches through the twisty mountain passes of the Italian and Swiss Alps over the course of four days. Among the nine Porsches was a 1970 Porsche ST, a GT4, a 964 and all manner of 911s, from classic to current. The drivers nicknamed their adventure the “Mille Miglia of the Alps,” after the famed 1,000-mile race in Italy.

If you’re planning any kind of road trip in the future, let this be a guide on how it should be done properly and tastefully.
